We’re thrilled to announce that the Resilient Southern LAND Fund has been selected to participate in the 5th cohort of Boston Impact Initiative’s ARC Fellowship.
For five years, the ARC Fellowship has supported visionary fund managers who center community ownership, economic justice, and climate sustainability. The program is hands-on and peer-driven, bringing together managers at every stage of their fund journey — from those conceptualizing their very first vehicle to experienced investors expanding their impact focus. Fellows receive expert-led learning, peer support, access to catalytic capital, and entry into a lifelong community of practice.
“Turning land into legacy — demonstrating that economic justice and ecological sustainability are not competing goals, but the twin engines of a resilient South.”
Joshua Humphreys
Over the next eight months, our cohort will collaborate, learn, and strengthen impact-first investing approaches with expert guidance and peer accountability. The timing is significant: this fellowship comes as the LAND Fund enters a pivotal phase of its development.
About the Resilient Southern LAND Fund
- A joint venture between RBI and Croatan Institute
- Acquires farmland and forests across the U.S. South
- Transitions thousands of acres to regenerative farmers and community-rooted land stewards
- Supports landholders interested in deploying renewable energy solutions
- Bridges catalytic capital with community-centered land ownership
The Resilient Southern LAND Fund is about more than land. It is a demonstration that economic justice and ecological sustainability reinforce each other — that protecting and stewarding the land of the U.S. South is inseparable from building lasting wealth and resilience in its communities.
Through the ARC Fellowship, we’ll continue refining our approach, deepening our relationships with fellow impact-first fund managers, and accessing the capital and expertise needed to advance this vision. We’re grateful to Boston Impact Initiative for building a program that takes seriously the idea that the people closest to the problem are closest to the solution.
Stay tuned for updates as we move through the fellowship — and reach out if you’re a farmer, land steward, or community organization in the South interested in learning more about what the LAND Fund can offer.
